Obituary

Norma Lucille Hale, 100, of Iowa City and formerly of Burlington died at 5:25 a.m. Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Iowa City Care and Rehab in Iowa City.
Born April 16, 1916 in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of John and Matie (Yount) Weyer. She married Chester Hale. He died December 27,
1977.
Mrs. Hale was a homemaker and worked in the laundry department at Burlington Hospital. She was active at the Steamboat Senior Center. She enjoyed
fishing, bingo, and gardening, and was an excellent pie­baker. She moved to Iowa City in 1992.
Survivors include four daughters, Janet Dunnington of Pueblo, Colorado, Virginia (Joel) Phillips of East Flat Rock, North Carolina, Sharon (Robert)
Bower of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Nancy Hale (Scott Clemons) of North Liberty, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 12 great­grandchildren and four great­great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Lois DeCamp, two brothers, Harold Linder and John Weyer, and one sister, Edith
Sandy.
The funeral service for Mrs. Hale will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 14th at Lunning Chapel. Pastor JudyAnn Morse will officiate. Interment will be
held in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
