Obituary
Robert C. Anderson of 1545 Hospital Road, Silvis, Ill., formerly of Burlington, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 1992. He married Evelyn Anderson in 1925 in Burlington. She died in 1983. Mr. Anderson had been in the banking buisness for nearly 50 years, retiring as executive veice president of the Burlington Bank and Trust Co. in 1970. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church since 193, serving on its church council and as financial secretary for many years. Whle residing in the Quad Cities, he attended Trinity Lutheran Church at Moline. He was past president of the American Business Club, the state T.P.A. treasurer of the Des Moines County Cancer Society, treasurer for five years of Burlington Steamboat Days, past president of S.C.O.R.E, member of Rotary, Elks and Eagles Christian Action Committee, and state legislative chairman of A.A.R.P. and the Des Moines County Senior Citizen Advisory Board.
Masonic affiliations included past monarch of the Murad Grotto, treasurer of Malta Lodge A.F. & A.M., iowa Chapter No. 1 of Royal Arch Masons, St. Omar Commandery No. 15 of Knights Templars, and E.C. Blackmar Chapter of Order of Easter Star.
Survivors include a son, Robert Anderson of Moline; a dadughter, Lucia Moore of Davenport; four grandsons and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Esterdahl Mortuary in Moline, Ill., and from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Burlington.
The memorial service for Mr. Anderson will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Burlington with the Rev. Donald D. Hoornstra officiating. Memorial have been established for the Messiah Lutheran Church in Burlington and the Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline.
