Janetlee Gulick, 86, of Alton, IL., formerly of Burlington, died at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2007, at Eden Village Nursing Home in Glen Carbon, IL. Born Jan. 21, 1921, in Farmington, she was the daughter of Louis and Rosalee Jenkins Higdon. On March 15, 1940, she married John B. Gulick in Burlington. He died Dec. 14, 1988. Mrs. Gulick attended Des Moines County schools. She was a member of Abundant Life Community Church in Alton. Survivors include one son, Ronald J. Gulick of Port Orange, Fla.; one daughter, Pamela R. Peterson of Alton; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six brothers, Earl Higdon, Jim Higdon, Bill Higdon, Stanley Higdon, Bob Higdon and Gary Higdon; and four sisters, Betty McGrath, Dorothy Mills, Shirtey Frank and Kay Berghold. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one grandson and three brothers. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel. The graveside funeral service for Mrs. Gulick will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Aspen Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Scott Graham officiating.
