Obituary

Wanita Ann Grinnell , 81, of Burlington, died at 9:15 PM Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born December 20, 1936, in Iowa, she was the daughter of Louis and Rose Kramer. She married Raymond Grinnell in Burlington who passed in 1995.

She worked for 30 years at Apothecary 24.

She was of Catholic faith. She was a very fun person who enjoyed life, and enjoyed being around people. Wanita loved her family. She was a go-getter, who helped everyone. She could be ornery, but she was sharp as a tack and had a heart of gold. She loved to bargain shop. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles and a Wednesday Girls Day club at the Sombrero.

Survivors include three sons, Wilbur (Sandra) Grinnell of Burlington; Scott (Kelly Cleek) Grinnell of Burlington; and Tony (Merabeth) Grinnell of Katy, TX; six grandchildren, Matthew (Ashley) Grinnell of West Burlington; Randi (Shawn) Francis of Anchorage, AK; Laura Grinnell of Ames; Travis Grinnell of West Burlington; Stefani Grinnell of Des Moines; and Brysn Grinnell of Katy, TX; and seven great-grandchildren; five brothers; and one sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Karen Brant.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, January 26, 2018 at Prugh's Chapel.

The funeral service for Mrs. Grinnell will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Prugh's Chapel with Reverend Dean Graber officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove following the service.

A memorial has been established for an Eagle's Club Charity.
