Charles B. Gregg, 88, of LeClaire and formerly Burlington died at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at his residence in LeClaire. Born March 8, 1918 in Danville, he was the son of Howard Mason and Martha Finley Wharton Gregg. was first married to Elizabeth Waggoner, then married to Velva Jane Martin who died May 17, 1972. He was then married to Lorena Long in 1974 who died in 1999. Mr. Gregg was a machinist at ALCOA Aluminum for 21 years retiring in 1984. He also worked as a millwright for many years and was a mechanic for the railroad and other companies. He attended Faith Baptist Church in Oquawka and Pleasant View Baptist Church in Pleasant Valley. Gregg is survived by three daughters, Carol (Boyd) Jensen of Polk City, Florida, Ruth (Rick) Roll of Monmouth, Illinois and Martha (Paul) Jensen of LeClaire; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Carolyn Durbin; his wives; three sisters; and three brothers. memorial has been established in his memory.
