Dorothy B. Grant, 84, of Fort Worth, Texas, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, in Fort Worth. Born May 15, 1923, in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of Harvey and Lois Belle Nickerson Crosby. On March 16, 1945, she married George L. Grant at Niagara Falls, N.Y. He died Feb. 2, 1986. Mrs. Grant lived for many years in Burlington with her daughter Chris Campbell and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. She was active in volunteer work and won the Iowa Governor's award for Volunteer of the Year at the age of 74 for her volunteer work with the Department of Human Services. Survivors include two sons, George L. "Butch" Grant Jr. of Texas, and Byron Grant of Louisiana; two daughters, Christine Campbell of Oklahoma, and Sherri Curry of Texas; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. The funeral for Mrs. Grant will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Aspen Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Stevens officiating. Lunning Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
