Charles Graham, 69, of Burlington died at 5:50 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2006, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Born February 15, 1936 in Stronghurst, Illinois, He was the son of Clarence A. and Ruth M. Waterman Graham. On March 14, 1953 he married Peggy Ilaine Astfalk in Kahoka, Missouri. She died October 28, 2000. Mr. Graham was of the Protestant faith and worked as a machinist at Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad Shops for 42 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Mainliners and New London Country Club and a past member of Flint River Bow Hunters, Long Creek Conservation Club and Carthage Lake Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He also served in the Iowa National Guard. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy E. (Larry) Blutt of Burlington; three sons, Michael (Debbie) Graham of Burlington, Dan (Lisa) Graham of West Burlington, and Scott (Missy) Graham of Burlington; nine grandchildren; one great grandson; one step great granddaughter; two brothers, John Graham and Thomas "Ed" Graham both of Burlington; and three sisters, Nora Webb and Mary Fisher both of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Frances Valenzuela of Watsonville, California. His wife and parents preceded him in death. A memorial has been established for New London Country Club.
