Obituary
Carol Sue Gieselman went to be with her Lord and Savior early Thursday morning, September 16, 2010, at the Great River Medical Center in Burlington. She was born on November 11, 1948, to Elmer and Alice Hutcheson Gieselman, and grew up in Burlington, IA. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1968, and also took clerical courses at Southeast Iowa Community College. Carol worked as a teachers' aid at Central Avenue School, and worked as a librarian at North Hill School. She enjoyed time spent with preschoolers while working as an assistant teacher in her Church's Sunday School. She was a member and faithful attendee at the First Church of the Nazarene. She was recently able to enjoy and participate in her Church's 75th Anniversary Celebration. Carol enjoyed crafts, reading, and spending time with family and friends, many of those friends being from Autumn Heights. Carol was a beloved daughter, sister, niece, aunt, and friend, and will be missed by all. Carol had many special challenges and difficult times in her life, but through them all she maintained a cheerful attitude and complete trust in her Lord. She is survived by two brothers, Wayne (Joan) Gieselman of Marshalltown, IA, and Stanley (Shirley) Gieselman of Burlington; a sister, Karen (Paul) McKishen of Montrose, CO; nieces Sarah (Nathan) Koschmann, Amy Kacmarysnki; nephews Kent (Emily) Gieselman and Matt Gieselman; Aunt June Gieselman; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Alice Gieselman; grandparents Fred and Flora Gieselman, and Walter and Jesse Hutcheson; step-nephew Eric Snyder; and many uncles and aunts. Funeral services for Carol Sue Gieselman will be held in Prugh's Chapel Monday, September 20, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Terry Vance will officiate. The family will receive friends in Prugh's Chapel on Sunday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
