Fred O. Anderson, 85, of 1712 Lincoln, died Saturday, April 22, at Veterans Hospital, Pala Alto, Calif.
He was born May 24, 1892, at Mediapolis, the son of Andrew P. and Marie Anderson Anderson. He married Tillie Sophia Dove at Burlington, Sept. 10, 1919; she died in 1976.
A WWI veteran, he was a retired carpenter and a member of First United Church of Christ, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, Hawkeye Natives, National Senior Citizens and Hilltoppers.
Surviving: Two sons, Ray M., Burlington and Kenneth, longview, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Collenbaugh, Burlington, and MRs. Evelyn PRice, San Jose, Calif., with whom he made his home since October, 1977; five grandchildren.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Prughs Chapel, Rev. David Stabenfeldt; ASpen Grove cemetery; A memorial has been established to First United Church of Christ.
