Donald Gene Anderson, 40, of Carthage, passed away Monday, December 17, 2007, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage at 648 p.m. Don was born October 10, 1967, with his twin brother, David Glen, in East Moline, Illinois, the son of Robert M. and Barbara D. (Hallberg) Anderson. He grew up in Burlington, Iowa, and attended North Hill Grade School, Oak Street Middle School, and graduated from Burlington High School in 1986, where he was a four sport star athlete. Don went on to further his education at Southeastern Community College where he earned his associate's degree. He later earned his bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University. Don then took an internship at Methode Electronics in Carthage. He was later offered a full-time position and has worked there since. It was there he met and fell in love with Lisa Wascher. On October 8, 2005, the were united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington, Iowa. Don was an avid race enthusiast and driver, holding a feature win at Burlington, as well as manhy other wins at other venues. He also attended the Richard Petty Racing School with is father and brothers. Don sought his strength from friends and amily, but most of all, from his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Carthage, SME (Society for Manufacturing Engineers), and was a charter member of Spring Invaders. Don is survived by his wife, Lisa, of Carthage; two sons, Corbyn and Coulton Wascher of Carthage; a dauighter, Ciarra Wascher of Carthage; his parents, Robert M. and Barbara D. Anderson of Burlington; and older brother, Robert H. (Joni) Anderson of Burlington; his twin brother, David Glen (Heidi) Anderson ofBurlington; ;his maternal grandfather, Donald H. Hallberg of Burlington; his paternal grandmother, Mary E. Anderson; 4 nieces and nephews, Codey, Brett, Morgan and Brad Anderson; best friend, Danny (Linda) Quinn of Carthage; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2007, at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Carthage with Pastor Chris Hales and Mark Pettit officiating. Race fan attire is welcome. Burial will follow in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage, with family meeting friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Children's College Fund, the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Carthage, or My Mathew's House Cat Shelter. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the First Assembly of God Church, 1809 Agency St., Burlington, Iowa, following the burial. Printy Funeral Home in Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
