Alfredo Garza Jr., 76, of West Burlington, died at 2:20 AM Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at the Great River Medical Center.
Born September 25, 1940, in Brownsville, TX, he was the son of Alfredo and Teodora Guadalupe Perez Garza. On September 20, 1962, he married Jacinta Cisneros in Oquawka, IL.
Alfredo worked in production at Chittenden & Eastman Company for 25 years before his retirement.
He was of Catholic faith. He loved to be outdoors and was always on the go. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, caring for his own yard, and spent many hours repairing classic cars and trucks.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Yolanda Garza of West Burlington, Alma (Jerry) Hogberg, Teresa Garza, Rosalinda Garza all of Burlington; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Robert, Miranda, Stephanie, Tommy, Lucerza, Marissa, Vanessa; five great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Keondrea, Kyra, Kameron, Caleb; one sister, Florence Rocha of Dallas, TX; one brother, Ernesto (Susan) Garza of Dallas, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one half-brother.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM, Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mr. Garza will be 1:00 PM Monday, December 19, 2016, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Rev. Father Marty Goetz officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in his name.
