Mildred B. Garman, 88, of Bettendorf, dormerly of Burlington, died at 7:42 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport. Born July 27, 1912, in Dubuque, she was the daughter of Charles and Marie Harris Loomis. She married Burley Milton Garman on Dec. 24, 1931, in Memphis, MO. He died Oct. 20, 1994. Mrs. Garman was a homemaker. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bettendorf. Survivors include one daughter, Roberta Stanbary of Bettendorf; one son, Gary Garman of Bakersfield, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 18 great- grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, and one brother. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Garman will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Rick Smith officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemtery. A memorial has been established for theCancer Society.
