Obituary
Dorothy Edith Anderson, 87, of Burlington, died at 10:26 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2006 at her daughters home. Born July 30, 1918, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Frederick George Emanuel and Anna Serefia Froid Richter. On June 28, 1941, she married Ray Melvin Anderson in Burlington. He died June 14, 2005. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She also was a member of the Women's Fellowship and taught Sunday school at First United Church of Christ. She was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the age of 87. She also was a member of the Relief Society. She loved to cook, crochet, gardening and playing cards Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Buckles of Burlington; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Catherine L. Hunter of Muscatine; and nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one infant daughter, one infant son, four brothers and one grandaughter. Bishop Jonathan Snow will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Hope Haven Area Development Center.
