Obituary
Norma J. Anderson, 80 of Burlington, passed away at Great River Hospice House, West Burlington, Iowa, on Monday afternoon, April 9, 2012. Born on July 6, 1931 in Quincy, Illinois, she was the daughter of Harry G. and Edith E. Brooks Holland. She married Donald C. Anderson on June 25, 1950 in Keokuk, Iowa. He passed away on February 6, 2000. Norma helped run the family business and was a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator for many years; as well as a volunteer for Great River Hospice. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She loved to travel; visiting places all over the world, and spending winters in Florida. She enjoyed auctions, reading, spending time at the family cabin, and working in her flower garden; especially in the spring. Her favorite times were spent with family and her two dogs, Sydney and Sammi. She is survived by one son, Michael (Debbie) Anderson; one daughter, Katee (Tom) Beeding; three granddaughters, Nicole & Allison Beeding and Rachael Anderson; one great-granddaughter, Alivia Beeding, all of Burlington, IA; one sister, Marscine Whaley of Keokuk, IA; two brothers, Donald Holland of Ft. Madison, IA and Forrest Holland of Dekalb, IL; one cousin, Dave Nagel of Quincy, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents, an infant brother and infant sister. A private graveside committal service was held at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Chaplain Randy Langner officiating. Memorials have been established for Great River Hospice and PAWS Animal Shelter..
