Mildred Loree Furman, 91, of Burlington, died at 7:35 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Burlington Care Center. Born November 29, 1919, in Buffalo Center, she was the daughter of Harry Earl and Mabel Louise Christenson Thomas. On May 15, 1944, she married Odas Francis Furman in Williamsburg. He died February 21, 2006. Mrs. Furman was a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Sierra Memorial in Sun Valley, Calif., for 30 years. She was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, and White Shrine. Survivors include two sons, William R. Furman and Burton L. Furman, both of Burlington; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters, and one infant child. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington. Family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour prior to service. The funeral for Mrs. Furman will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Kendall Adams officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Memorials have been established for Crippled Children's Hospital and Burlington Care Center Activity Fund.
