Obituary
Glen Louis Fullhart, 80, of Wever, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at his home. Born May 2, 1927 in Exline, he was the son of William Arthur and Frances Delia Albright Fullhart. On April 24, 1949 he married Wilma Marshall in Burlington. Mr. Fullhart was a Navy veteran serving as a Gunners Mate 1st Class during World War II and in the Navy National Guard. He worked for the railroad, was a truck driver at IAAP, a meat cutter for Eagle Foods for 16 years, manager of the meat department at Hy-Vee and owned and operated F&M Meat Distributing Co. before retiring. Mr. Fullhart was a member of First United Methodist Church of Burlington, Eagles, Moose, life member of VFW and past commander, American Legion, and IAAP Recreation Advisory Board. He received the Governor's Award for volunteer services for the Department of Human Services for his participation in Meals on Wheels and the Senior Center. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Fullhart of Wever; two sons, Jerry Glen Fullhart of Pine Circle, Minn., and Dale Fullhart of Fort Madison; one daughter, Sandra Fullhart Snyder of Wever; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jennie Stucker of Burlington and Prue Simmons of Mystic. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers. Visitation will be from noon today until 8:00 p.m. in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service for Mr. Fullhart will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Kendall Adams will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice.
