Lois Kells Fruehling, 95, Presbyterian Homes of Arden Hills, Minn., died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000. Born July 22, 1905, in Mendon, Ill., she was the daughter of William and Beulah Kells. On July 24, 1936, she married Arnold "Dutch" Fruehling in Macomb, Ill. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Fruehling taught in the Quincy, Ill., area and operated a preschool in her home. She served as a juvenile officer until her retirement in 1971. She attended Western Illinois University. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington. Survivors include two sons, James Fruehling of Vadnais Heights, Minn., and Thomas Fruehling of Cedar Rapids; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Bohlen of West Burlington; seven grandchildren, Amy E. Pearson of Davenport, Peter James Fruehling of Woodbury, Minn., John Kells Fruehling of Burlington, Sara Fruehling of Vadnais Heights, Minn., Anne Fruehling of Wheatridge, Colo., and Catherine Wall and Laura Fruehling, both of Cedar Rapids; one great-grand- child, Bailey Wall of Cedar Rapids; and one sister, Frances Holtman of Naperville, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold "Dutch" Fruehling; one son, Larry Kells Fruehling; one sister, Mildred Finquist; and one brother, Bill Kells. A memorial service for Mrs. Fruehling will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church at a time to be announced later. A memorial has been established for Trinity Lutheran Church. Prugh Funeral Service is in charge of local arrangements.
