Mr. Clarence W. "Bud" Anderson, 84, of Burlington, died at 9:40 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2011, at Great River Medical Center.
Born November 16, 1926 in Burlington, he was the son of John and Plommie Jackson Anderson. On May 4, 1947 he married Ruth Swanson in Burlington. She preceded him in death on June 6, 1995. On January 1, 1997 he married Marilyn Lietsch Lewis in Burlington.
Mr. Anderson was a Burlington High School graduate. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Anderson was a foreman at Lehigh-Leopold Desk Company for 41 years. After 1985 he became a self-employed painter and retired in 2007.
Mr. Anderson was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling and planting flowers, especially tulips.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Anderson of Burlington; three step sons, Mark Lewis of Chillicothe, Illinois, David Lewis of Burlington and Andrew (Tina) Lewis of Altoona; two step daughters, Jane (Robert) Knoll of Burlington and Nancy (Ernie) Beeney of Trivoli, Illinois; 16 step grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; six step great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Irma Kuntz of Mount Pleasant and Violet Niehaus of Burlington; two brothers, Leonard (Paula) Anderson of Burlington and Charles Mick (Vera) Anderson of Middletown and several nieces and nephews.
His wife, Ruth Anderson, and parents preceded him in death.
The visitation for Mr. Anderson will be 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, February 25th, in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
The funeral service for Mr. Anderson will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 26th, in Messiah Lutheran Church. The Rev. Susanne Smith will officiate. The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
