Tamara Jean Freitag, 76, of rural Burlington, died at 5:33 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born December 12, 1931, in Davenport, she was the daughter of Bruce and Dorothy Taber Werden. On November 12, 1952, she married Warren Freitag in Burlington. He died April 5, 1999. Mrs. Freitag was a homemaker. She attended West Avenue Baptist Church. She enjoyed yard sales, her pets, eating dinner with friends and, in her earlier years, she enjoyed painting. Survivors include two daughters, Toccoa Renoud of Jacksonville, Ill., and Tawny Good of Burlington; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be from 9 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Lunning Chapel, where family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Freitag will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Kirk Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.
