Lela E. Freeman, 86, of West Burlington, died at 3:20 PM Friday, October 7th, 2016, at Danville Care Center with Great River Hospice Care.
Born on June 5, 1930, in Cameron, MO she was the daughter of Earl and Bessie (Turner) Shaver. On May 15, 1949 she married Edward O. Freeman in Cameron, MO.
She graduated from Cameron High School the Class of 1948 in Cameron, MO. Lela worked for I.A.A.P., Jack's Discount Store and retired from Hope Haven.
Lela was a member of West Burlington United Methodist Church. She enjoyed yard work, attending to her flowers, watching her Finches and watching her children and grandchildren's sports.
Survivors include two daughters; Beth (Max) Kline of Mequon, WI, Julie (Scott) Newman of Burlington; two sons, Mike (Theresa) Freeman of Burlington, and Tim (Melissa) Freeman of Independence, MO; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Bernice Coleman of Independence, MO; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Anna B. Parham, brother-in-law's John and Melvin, and one niece LuAnn.
Visitation for Lela will begin at 8 AM Tuesday, at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until the time of service.
The funeral service for Lela Freeman will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 10th at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Dean Graber officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
