Mrs. Mildred Rosetta "Budde" Foster, 98 of Burlington died at 2:10 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013, at Sunnybrook of Burlington.
Born October 11, 1914 in Burlington, Iowa she was the daughter of Fredrick and Daisy A. Doty Grant. On May 8, 1937 she married Louis Foster in Grace United Methodist Church, Burlington. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1987.
Mrs. Foster was a graduate of Burlington Community High School. She was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church and was a charter member of E.S.A. Mildred worked in production at TRW/IRC for 19 years.
Mildred enjoyed the Thursday lunch bunch and her monthly trips to the casino. She was an avid Cubs fan, she loved walking and bowling, and loved playing golf in her younger years.
Survivors include her son, Bob (Barb) Foster; daughter, Judy Nesius; daughter-in-law, Veda Foster, all of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Nanci Ell, Bret, Chris, Donnie, Mickey, Scott, and Lance Foster; twenty great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Norma Mordhorst of Wyoming, Virginia Gugeler of Burlington, and Patricia Roberts of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; son, Jon Foster; grandson, Bradley Nesius; brothers, James, Skippy and Robert Grant; sister, Marion Hellenthal; and son-in-law, Jim Nesius.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6th, at Lunning Chapel, with the family receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
The funeral service for Mildred will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6th, at Lunning Chapel with Pastor Morris Hurd officiating.
The graveside service will be Monday, February 11th, at 2:30 p.m. in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for the Des Moines County Animal Shelter, Great River Hospice and West Hill United Methodist Church.
According to Mrs. Foster's wishes, cremation will be accorded following the funeral service.
