Lester H. “Bud” Fleming, 70, of 1801 Dill St., died Saturday, Jan. 24, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Aug 14, 1916, at Elvaston, Ill,. Hancock Co., he was the son of Roy C. and Enid Marie Smart Fleming. He married Mildred L. Mapes Oct. 24, 1935, in Keokuk.
Mr. Fleming had been an automotive mechanic for Hawkeye Motors. He was retired. He was of the Protestant faith and a life member of the VFW, Carthage, Ill., and American Legion. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred; two sons, Phillip Fleming and James Fleming, both of Burlington; two daughters, Sharon Bessine, Burlington, and Janet Jenkins, San Diego, Calif.; and nine grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one step-greatgrandchild.
Services for Mr. Fleming will be 11 am Tuesday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Richard Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the intensive care unit of Burlington Medical Center.
