Obituary
Frank Flad, 80, who formerly lived at 1711 Orchard, died Wednesday in Sunnyslope sanitorium, Ottumwa. He was born Oct. 31, 1878, in Burlington the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Flad, and married Elizabeth Johnson in Burlington on Oct. 15, 1909. Flad was a former partner in the Dehner Cigar store and was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Danchoo, Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Katherine Thomas, Burlington; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Rudolph and Clara Flad, both of Burlington. His wife and a son Donald are dead. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Giles funeral home with Rev. John Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
