Gerald “Gerry” Lee Fisher, 86, of Burlington died on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Burlington Care Center.
Born on April 6, 1928 in Burlington, Iowa he was the son of Harry Benton & Katherine Brockelman Fisher. On December 29, 1948 he married Catherine “Kay” Elizabeth Grothe at St. John Catholic Church in Burlington, Iowa.
Gerald was owner and operator of Fisher Roto Rooter Company for 60 years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, his Mississippi Cabin and watching the Chicago Bulls.
Survivors include his wife, Kay of Burlington, two daughters, Susan J. Johnson and Christina “Tina” (Richard “Dick”) Lord both of Burlington. Four sons, Terry L. (Ginger) Fisher , Tom (Mary Jo) Fisher, Steve Fisher & Jason Fisher all of Burlington. 21 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Several Nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one grandson, one brother and one sister.
The Funeral Mass will be Monday, May 12, 2014 at St. John Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Fr. Marty Goetz will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Music will be provided by the Des Moines County Resurrection Choir.
A memorial has been established in memory of Gerald Fisher.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Funeral Service.
