Obituary
James R. Anderson, age 43, of Burlington, died on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Henry County Health Center, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Born on May 15, 1969 in Vietnam, he was the son of Merrill “Andy” R. and Mai Nguyen Anderson.
Jim was a graduate of Burlington High School class of 1987 and a Correctional Officer at Mt. Pleasant Correctional Facility for 22 years
He was an avid sports fan and was known for his love of the Chicago Bears. He was active in the lives of his friends and his family, from coaching his nephews sports teams to being the number one fan at piano recitals. Jim made an impact on all who knew him with his smile and his sense of humor and always being there for his family and friends.
He is survived by DeeAnn Fields who he shared his life with for the last 25 years; two nephews that he raised and loved with Dee Ann, David Newland and Taylor Newland of Burlington; his mother, Mai (Tom) McIntyre of Ft. Madison; one sister, Marlene (Scott) Kadera of Marion, Iowa; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and one son, Nathan James Anderson.
Funeral services for Jim Anderson will be held at the Trinity Evangelical Church, 115 So.Central, Burlington on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Shane McCampbell will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
The family will be present to greet friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. in Prugh’s Chapel. A memorial has been established in memory of James Anderson.
