Obituary

Virginia Ambers, 71, of the Elm View Care Center died at 4:50 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 1989, at the Burlingotn Medical Center.
Born Jan. 22, 1918, at Hunnewell, MO she was the daughter of Ollie and Gertrude Wood Mayfield. She married Vincent Bruce Ambers Aug 31, 1962, in Burlingotn. He died Dec. 27, 1969.
She had opperated a foster home. She was a member of the St. John's A.M.E. Church and its choir and missionary society and was treasurer of the trustee board of the church.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Wilma Dickens, Chicago, IL and Mrs. Wanda Holland, Monroe City, MO; one foster son, Ricky Millsap, Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
The service for MRs. Ambers will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel with the Rev, Cecil Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the St. John's A.M.E. Church.
