Donald William Fenton, 76, of Burlington, died at 3:07 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at Great River Hospice House. Born May 31, 1932, in Davis County, Iowa, he was the son of Dorris William and Wanda Adeline Buton Fenton. In 1952 he married Doris Eileen Jones in Burlington. She preceded him in death in 1967. Mr. Fenton was a Korean War Army veteran, serving from 1953 until 1955. Moving to Burlington in 1955, he worked as the resident manager for Burlington Heights for 33 years. He then owned and operated Fenton Sales and Pawn Shop from May 17, 1987. He was a member of West Burlington United Methodist Church and Ducks Unlimited "Greenwings", and a past member of the Eagles, Moose, Elks, NRA and Amateur Trapshooting Association of America. He was a coach of Little League, Pony League, Colt League and American Legion League. He was a championship coach. He enjoyed fishing, trapshooting, hunting and working in his business. Survivors include three sons, Donald D. (Debbie) Fenton of Burlington, Dwayne P. (Kerri) Fenton of Missouri, and Douglas A. (Dawn) Fenton also of Burlington; eleven grand- children; and twelve great-grandchildren. His wife, son Dean Fenton, parents, and two brothers preceded him in death.
