Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Vincent Bruce Ambers, who passed away December 27, 1969 will be held in Prugh's Chapel, at a time to be announced later. Interment will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.

Vincent B. Ambers, 47, of Burlington died as a result of a head-on auto collision on US 61 near Ft. Madison Saturday afternoon.
Ambers, of 514 S. Fourth, was dead on arrival at Sacred Heart hospital, Ft. MAdison, following the 12:45 p.m. accident two miles north of Ft. Madison.
Two occupants of the second auto involved, Mr. and Mrs. David Nelson, Iowa City, were injured. Mrs. Linda Kay Nelson, 23, suffered a broken leg and jaw and was transferred to a hospital at Iowa City.
nelson, 24, was listed in fair condition at Sacred Heart with undetermined injuries.
Sheriff's officers said Ambers was northbound and Mrs. Nelson southbound when the cars collided on Country Club curve.
Mr. Ambers, a truck driver, was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Hannibal, MO., the son of Mr and MRs. Perry Ambers. He married Virginia Mayfield at Burlington Aug. 21, 1962. He was of the Baptist faith and a WWII veteran.
Surviving: His wife; six sons and two daughters by a former marriage; a foster son, Ricky Millsap, at home; four grandchildren. The body is at Prugh's chapel.
