Obituary
Robert J. Field, 57, of 705 Haskell, died at 5:18 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. He was born to Edward and Ruth Zeller Field April 12, 1926, at Burlington, where he married Helen Siekman June 19, 1949. He was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, and held a master's degree from Western Illinois University, Macomb. He taught middle school industrial arts for 33 years and was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church, North End Boating Association and the Riverfront Advisory Committee. Surviving: Wife, mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. John Weyl, Burlington, three sons, Craig, St. Louis, Kent, Waukee, and Murray, Burlington; two grandchildren. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Lunning Chapel, the Rev. B. Lawrence Sweeney; Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the ALS Society of America
