Adolph Faulkner, 91, of Burlington, died at 10:02 PM Thursday, April 14, 2016, at the Great River Klein Center.
Born July 20, 1924, in Meridian, MS, he was the son of Theodore Falconer and Jenny Nash. He married Mildred Bogan. They later divorced. On July 3, 1979, he married Lurlene Dunn. She died on May 6, 2008.
Adolph worked at Riley Brothers, Case, and Burlington Bank and Trust.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
He was of Christian Faith. He took many fishing trips and enjoyed hunting and traveling. He was a visitor and enjoyed coffee and breakfast with his family and friends at many local restaurants.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean Sprattling Gordon of Burlington; one step-daughter, Cloteria Tutt of Burlington; two step-sons, E.J. Jackson and Bobbie Dunn both of Saint Louis; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his two wives he was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Joan Sherman, two brothers, Theodore and Rogers, one sister, Jenny Carter, and one granddaughter, Tyrene Gordon.
Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM Friday, April 22, 2016 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home, 3940 Division Street.
The funeral service for Mr. Faulkner will be 10:00 AM Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church with Elder Lawrence L. Manson and Reverend Kenneth R. Petersen officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church following the burial.
A memorial has been established in his name.
