Lurlene Faulkner, 73, of Burlington, died at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Born October 1, 1934, in Hope, Ark., she was the daughter of Durlene Dunn. On July 3, 1979, she married Adolph Faulkner in Meridian, Miss. Mrs. Faulkner worked in housekeeping at Burlington Bank & Trust for 17 years, and as a CNA at Burlington Care Center for 18 ½ years. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Burlington. She enjoyed traveling and fishing. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Bobbie Dunn of Burlington and E. J. Jackson of St. Louis, MO; one daughter, Cloteria Tutt of Burlington; two stepdaughters, Jean Sprattling-Gordon of Burlington, and Joan Sherman of Rock Island, IL; four stepsons, Larry Gant of Los Angeles and Stanley Gant, Chad Gant and Al Gant, all of Hot Springs, Ark.; four stepdaughters, Vanessa Stewart, Bonita Seymour, Gloria Jean Wilson and Betty Gant, all of Hot Springs, Ark.; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son and one grandchild. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. 7:30 p.m. Monday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday. The funeral for Mrs. Faulkner will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for Riverside Baptist Church.
