Bernice Mary Ringblum Farr, 92, of Mesa, Arizona, died at Arbor Rose Senior Care on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. Born on May 9, 1920 in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Carl Fredrick and Christine Laurina Nielsen Ringblum. She married Ray Allen Farr on July 29, 1967 in Burlington, Iowa. He died on October 28, 2009. Bernice worked as an office clerk and office manager. She retired from McKesson Chemical Co. in Burlington. She and Ray loved to spend summers in their Canadian cabin. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and spending time with her dog, "Shadow". She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Community Church of New Thought in Mesa, Arizona. She is survived by one step-son, Ray C. Farr of New Mexico; two step-daughters, Judy Kahl of El Cajon, California and Kathy Sesma of Palm Springs, California; brother-in-law, George Farr of Bolivar, Missouri; ten nieces and nephews; seven step-grandchildren; fourteen step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren and special friends, Carolyn Anderson and Eleanor Childs of Mesa, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray; three brothers, Charles, Richard and James; and one sister, Mildred. Funeral services for Bernice Mary Ringblum Farr will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Prugh's Chapel. Rev. Ryan Cosgrove will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa. Following the funeral service, a reception will be held in Prugh's lobby with the burial one hour later. A memorial has been established for Trinity Lutheran Church.
