Ray A. Farr, 88, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Burlington and Mount Pleasant, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Born January 30, 1921, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Frank and Nell Graff Farr. On July 27, 1967, he married Bernice Ringblum in Burlington. Mr. Farr worked for McKesson Chemical Co., after moving to Burlington from San Diego, Calif., in 1966. He retired in 1986 and moved to Mesa. He was a 1940 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. He was a World War II veteran, and served in the Army Air Corps until 1945. He was a member of the Community Church of New Thought in Mesa. He enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, and conversation. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Judy Kahl of El Cajon, Calif., and Kathy Sesma of Palm Springs, Calif.; one son, Ray C. Farr of New Mexico; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, George Farr of Bolivar, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. The graveside memorial service for Mr. Farr will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Family and friends should meet at 12:45 p.m. at the Aspen Grove Cemetery office, 2043 Sunnyside Avenue. A memorial has been established for Community Church of New Thought, 5013 E. Broadway, Mesa, AZ 85206.
