James Paul Alter, 18, 509 S. Gunnison, died at 5 p.m. Friday, May 1, in a car accident on U.S. 61, four miles south of Mediapolis.
He was born August 24, 1963, in Burlingotn, the son of Edward and Phyllis Parmeter Alter.
He was a junior at Burlington High School, and worked part time at Hy-Vee grocery store, Ninth an dANgular. He wa a member of the Zion United Church of Christ.
Surviving; His parents, 509 S. Gunnison; and one sister, Mrs. Joyce Kitch, North Liberty.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Lunning Chapel, the Rev. Dale Hempen; Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Zion United Church of Christ.
