William H. Ertz, 88, of Abingdon, Ill., and formerly of Burlington,. died at 8:05 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 1993, at an Adingdon nursing home. Born May 22, 1904, in Burlington, he was the son of Joseph Ertz and Anna Mullaney. On Fev. 2, 1925, he married Helen M. Tate in Burlington. She died Aug. 22, 1972. Mr. Ertz was a cook at Van's Lunchbox for 35 years. He retired in 1977. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He also was a veteran of WWII. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lou Parrott of Tucson, Ariz.; two grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a great great grandson, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and a sister.
