John Robert Erickson, 51, of the Danville Care Center, Danville, died at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, MAy 4, 1994, at University Hospitals, Iowa City. Born Dec. 24, 1942, in Burlington, he was the son of Carl Gustau and Margaret Kathlene Johnson Erickson. Mr. Erickson worked at Trane Manufacturing, retiring in the early 1980's. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Burlington. Survivors include two sons, Scott and Robert of West Burlington; his mother, of West Burlington; one brother, Thomas Erickson of Burlington; and two sisters, Carol Silvoy of LAurel, Md., and Mary Griswald of Camanche. He was preceded in death by his father. Visitation will be after noon today in the Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends between 7 and 8:30 p.m. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Erickson will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. MAry's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Thomas Stratman officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.
