Russell John Engwall, 83, of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Burlington, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at his home in Knoxville. Born August 8, 1924, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of John Engwall and Ruth Spangberg. On November 7, 1970, he married Carole Burrus in Chicago, Ill. Mr. Engwall worked as a banker. He was of the Lutheran faith and was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife; two children, John Engwall and Suzanne Engwall, both of Knoxville and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. The graveside committal for Mr. Engwall will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Aspen Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Erick Swanson officiating. Please meet at Prugh Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
