Walter J. Enger, 2069 Highland avenue, died in Burlington hospital at 11:45 p.m. Monday. Death followed a heart attack, suffered Feb. 26. Enger would have been 71 years on March 9. He worked at the Elks clubrooms for 15 years, retiring about six years ago Before that he had been employed as a candy maker by Clinton Copeland Co. for 33 years. A native of Burlington, Enger was the son of George and Emma Pothoff Enger. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church and of the Masonic Lodge. On may 24, 1911, he was married to Lucille Rynot. Besides his wife, Enger is survived by two sons and a daughter; Mark Enger, Washington, D.C.; Paul Enger, Spencer, and Mrs. Huston Broyles of Rockford, Ill. and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Emma Enger, Burlington, and a brother and five sisters; Carl Enger, Mrs. Rose Stark, Mrs. Norman Mason, and Mrs. Walter Salome, all of Burlington, Mrs. Fred Salome, San Leandro, Calif. and Mrs. Edith Anderson, of Chicago. His father died previously. The body is at the Prugh chapel.
