Joseph E. Blodgett, 60, of Mount Pleasant, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at his home.
Born March 14, 1945, at Burlington, he was the son of James and Fern Lodwick Blodgett. On April 29, 1999, he married Mary Rumley at Kahoka, Mo.
Mr. Blodgett worked for Iowa Army Ammunition Plant for several years and later worked for Walmart Distribution Center until health issues forced him to retire.
He had faith in God. He attended Burlington High School and enjoyed going for car rides and watching old-time television and wrestling shows.
Survivors include his wife; one brother, Jim Blodgett of Mt. Pleasant; two stepsons Rodney Rumley of St. James, Mo. And Russell Rumley of Mount Pleasant; one stepdaughter, Raeleen Durham of Chillicothe, Mo.; four stepgrandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; one nephew; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel at Mt. Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm.
A graveside service for Mr. Blodgett will be at 10:30 am Wednesday in Aspen Grove Cemetery at Burlington.
A memorial has been established for Hospice of Central Iowa.
