Twila E. Elder, 73, of rural Burlington died at 11:23 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at her residence. Born August 7, 1932 in Ashton, Missouri, she was the daughter of Lester and Millie Billings Lipper. On September 16, 1951 she married James N. Elder in Kahoka, Missouri. Mrs. Elder was a 1950 graduate of Wyaconda, Missouri High School and worked in production at Champion Spark Plug then retired in 1983 after 21 years at I.R.C. She enjoyed family and friends, camping, bluegrass music, Christmas, making Christmas candies, embroidery and quilting and collected dolls. Survivors include her husband, James N. Elder of rural Burlington; two sons, Leslie (Lisa) Elder of Sperry and Bill (Karen) Elder of Mediapolis; two daughters, Izetta Lane (John Erb) of Montrose and Brenda (John) Steele of Wyaconda, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Heath Elder, Ben, Chris, and Teresa Elder, Scott and Eugene Lane, Felecia Caldwell, and Jennifer and Jason Steele; four great grandchildren, Blake, Zeke and Zakia Lane and Luke Steele; one sister, Willa Merle (Virgil) Bronstein of Canton, Missouri; and one brother, William "Bill""Bob"Clayton (Carol) Lipper of Sperry. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Delbert, Kenny, Raymond and Dean; three sisters, Delila, Diena and Nelda Mae; and son-in-law, Michael Lane. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Blattener Cemetery at Wyaconda, MO and Great River Hospice.
