Ralph Eklund, 80 year old retired Burlington businessman, died in Burlington Medical Center at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 23. He was born Feb. 28, 1905, in Burlington, to Peter and Alma Anderson Eklund. He married Evelyn Roden Aug. 28, 1930, in West Burlington. Mr. Eklund operated the Eklund Store between 1933 and 1977. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Burlington Golf Club, Masonic and Elks lodges, and was formerly active in the Chamber of Commerce. Surviving: His wife, daughter Joan Kuepper, Burlington; and two granddaughters. Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday at the Lunning Chapel, the Rev. Donald D. Hoornstra; Aspen Grove Cemetery. Memorials have been established for a college scholarship and Messiah Lutheran Church.
