Marvin Leon Eibes, 59,. of Burlington formerly of Sperry died at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 11, 1998, at Burlington Medical Center. Born Aug. 20, 1938, in Des Moines County, he was the son of William John and Alice Fern Williams Eibes,. On May 7, 1966, he married Linda Jean Kirkpatrick in Biggsville, Ill. Mr. Eibes was a 1956 graduate of Sperry High School in Sperry and was head of meter maintenance fro Burlington Municipal Waterworks, where he worked for 37 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge of Burlington and A.A.R.P. He was of the Protestant faith. Survivors include his wife; one son, Dr. Todd A. Eibes of Farmington Hills, Mich.; two sisters, Marjorie Witte of Morning Sun and Bonnie Wixson of Burlington; one brother, Ronald Eibes of Burlington; aunts; uncles; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Visitation will be after 8 a.m. today at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Eibes will be at 1:30 p.m.Thursday at Lunning Chapel with the Revs. Frosty Krummel and John Sterling officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery A memorial has been established to University of Iowa Cardiology Department.
