Ethel G. Ehret, 72 of Burlington, died at 4:20 PM, Saturday, February 25, 2006, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born April 13, 1933, in Burlington, she was the daughter of John and Ethel Gertrude Bidwell Cain. On May 17, 1953, she married George R. Ehret in Burlington. Mrs. Ehret had worked at Mercy Hospital, Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, and Steamboat Senior Center, but mostly she was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed genealogy, traveling, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, George; one daughter, Marta Newberry of Burlington; one son, Jay Ehret of Burlington; three grandchildren, Jennifer Rose, Jared Ehret, and Jerrica Ehret; three great-grandchildren, Skylor Rose, Bryce Rose, and Brayton Rose all of Burlington; one brother, Leo Cain of Burlington; two sisters, Leola Nichols of Burlington, and Bonnie Miller of Dover, DE; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and one sister As per the request of Mrs. Ehret her body has been cremated. Visitation will begin after 8:00 AM Tuesday, February 28, at the Hass-Thielen Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM. The Memorial Service for Mrs. Ehret will be 10:00 AM Wednesday in the Chapel of the Hass-Thielen Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Frank R. Beaty officiating. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
