Marciel Louise Easton, 83, of Burlington died at 3:10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 10,2006, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born Jan. 31,1923, in Augusta, she was the daughter of Arthur and Mary Louise Schirmer Staub. On Sept. 10, 1939, she married Robert E. Easton in Ottumwa. He died Nov. 11,1982. Mrs. Easton was a homemaker. She attended SS. John and Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She won many awards at the Des Moines County Fair with her crafts. Survivors include two sons. Jack Easton ofFolsom, Calif, and Lowell Easton of Ann Arbor, Mich.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Hurley, Maxine Green and Maejean Danover, all of Burlington; two brothers, Lester "Joe" Staub of Audubon and Arnold Staub of Ottumwa; nieces; and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild, two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The funeral service for Mrs. Easton will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Lunning Chapel. The Rev. Frank Beaty will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for March of Dimes and the Autism Society of America.
