Obituary
Elmer Ellis, 522 Summer street, died Friday, April 17, at university hospitals, Iowa city. He had been ill for seven months. Ellis was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Ellis and was born Jan. 29, 1903, at Eddyville. On June 3, 1928, he married Audrey Laurie at Chariton. He was a steamfitter and a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Union, Local 212, and of Des Moines lodge One, AF&AM. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Donald Moxley, 522 Summer street, Burlington; a brother and a sister, Frank Ellis and Mrs. J.F. Williams, both of Chariton and a granddaughter. Last rites will be conducted by Dr. George G. Hunt, pastor of First Methodist church, at the Giles funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. The Masonic ritual will be performed at the graveside.
