Donald Lynn Durst, 54, of Burlington, died at 3:10 PM Friday, August 25, 2006 at his home. Born May 4, 1952, in Ottumwa, Iowa, he was the son of Kenneth and Katherine (Wilt) Durst. He married Diana Nadine Davis on July 24, 1978 in Monmouth, Illinois. She survives. Donald was a graduate of Ottumwa High School and a graduate of Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa where he majored as a Chef. Mr. Durst delivered newspapers for The Hawk Eye for several years. Survivors include his wife, Diana Durst of Burlington; his children Danny Lee Durst of Burlington, Leslie Ludington and her husband Ron Sr. of Stronghurst, Melody Lynn Durst of Burlington, Barry Lynn Durst of Bloomfield, Iowa, David Durst and his fiancé Pam of Galesburg, and Joseph Durst of Galesburg; his step-children Jamie Duerre and his wife Gina of Burlington, and Joy Schnedler and her husband Scott of Burlington; and numerous grandchildren; four brothers Jimmy Durst of Eddyville, Danny Durst of Davenport, Ronald Durst of Ottumwa, Kenneth Durst of Ottumwa; three sisters Alice Cash of Texas, Jerri Boyd of Franklin, Texas, and Martha Versteegh of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Rodney Durst, a granddaughter Shyanna Durst and a sister Dorothy Jordan.
