Mrs. Sally J. Allen, 55, Bittersweet Pl., died at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct 22, at University hospitals, Iowa City. The daughter of Jay and Hazel Folsom, she was born Dec. 20, 1922, at New Hamptom. She married Dr. Robert B. Allen Sept. 29, 1944, in Mason City.
She was a teacher at Washington elementary school and a member of First Congregational church, Burlington Teachers Assn., and Burlington FIne Arts League.
Surviving: The husband; four daughters. Kethryn Mason and Judith Goodwin, both of Des Moines, Mary Allen, Iowa City, and Susan Von Harz, Burlington; sister, Audrey Bush, Harrison, Ark; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial service, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, First Congregational church, Rev. Arthur Krebs and Fr. David Steinle. Private committal service, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial for Burlington Fine Arts League has been established at Prugh's Chapel.
