Mary Ann Dunn, 82, of Burlington passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Blair House in Burlington.
Born September 29, 1933 in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Marie Hinkson. On June 9, 1951 she married Norbert Dunn. They were married for 34 years.
Mary Ann was a graduate of Burlington High School. She worked for IAAP, IRC, and then opened the Glad Hand on Leebrick and taught many in town to paint and make their own crafts. She then moved to Ames where she again went into business with her daughter, called Classique Bride.
Mary Ann was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed painting, crafting, and making brides, grooms, and wedding parties beautiful on their wedding day. She loved holidays spent with friends and family and truly cared for her Blair House family.
Survivors include one daughter, Marna (Jeff); one son, Gregg (Michelle Holmes) Dunn; three grandchildren, Ian Coy, Gavin Coy, and Tanner Dunn; and four great grandchildren, Raine, Camden, Kinsley Jo, and Audrey.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Joan Hinkson.
As per Mary Ann's wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel. A celebration of life service will be held at the Carthage Lake Club on Saturday, October 1st. Times will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Great River Hospice and Des Moines County Humane Society.
