Frances Adrene Doty, 87, of West Burlington, died at 10 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born November 7, 1920, in Jefferson City, she was the daughter of James B. and Stella F. Frazier Yardley. On April 20, 1946, she married Thomas Gail Doty, Sr. in Burlington. He died August 24, 1987. Mrs. Doty was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, walking, riding her bicycle and the Chicago Cubs. Survivors include one son, Thomas G. Doty, Jr. of Burlington; one daughter, Barbara J. Myers of Burlington; four grandchildren; seven great-grand-children; and one brother, Donald Yardley of Eldon. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. today at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, where the family will receive friends. The funeral for Mrs. Doty will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Leonard Schantz officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for the American Diabetes Association.
