Hugh Ballard Allen, 78, of the Union hotel died Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Burlington hospital.
he was born Jan 19, 1891, in Des Moines county, the son fo Mr. and Mrs. Frank Allen. In Novemebr of 1954 he married Norma T. Taylor in Burlington.
He owned the Union hotel, was a member of the First Congregational church, Elks, Rotary club and the American Hotel Assn.
Surviving: A daughter, Louis Allen, Manhatten Beach, CA. a son, Dr. Robert Allen, Burlingotn; a step-daughter, Mrs. Edwin C. Parker, Lake Forest, IL; a sister, Mrs. Herbert Stein, Burlington; four grandchildren; and three gret grandchildren.
Services are pending at Sheagren funeral home.
